As the only burn program in the state of Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota, the Burn Center at EIRMC cares for people with critical injuries sustained because of a burn and those needing ongoing or frequent outpatient advanced wound and hyperbaric care to better heal burns. Our goal is to minimize the lasting impact of burn injuries through and to keep patients closer to home and their support systems.
The Burn Center at EIRMC includes an adult Burn ICU, pediatric ICU, a burn-dedicated OR suite, and an outpatient Burn, Trauma and Wound Clinic. The hospital is also a designated Level II Trauma Center.
The Burn Center at EIRMC provides both inpatient and outpatient services for burn patients. Patients are cared for by specialized medical professionals trained in advanced burn care. We also employ state-of-the-art technology to treat and heal burns of all types.
We operate an ICU with 6 beds specifically dedicated to care for critically injured burn patients. Specialized physicians and Burn ICU nurses trained in critical care/ burn medicine, coupled with advanced technology and equipment, gives burn patients an optimal environment for recovery.
Outpatient Burn, Trauma & Wound Clinic
In addition to our specialized inpatient burn ICU, EIRMC also provides burn care through the outpatient burn clinic. Patients of all ages and with any type of burn injury are treated with advanced therapies to improve healing. Our services can even help patients with older burns and scarred tissue to improve.
Unlike many other clinics, care is oversighted by an onsite Burn and Trauma Surgeon. There are 13 treatment rooms in the outpatient clinic, and a whirlpool room with both a full body tub and an extremity tub.
Additionally, we also have advanced monoplace hyperbaric chambers with critical care/ ventilator capabilities that can aid in healing.
The clinic is open Monday through Friday for both scheduled and walk-in appointments.
