Burn care
EIRMC is verified by the American Burn Association, making us one of only 81 burn centers in the United States with this high-level designation.
American Burn Association validation affirms that EIRMC has the specialized team, resources and systems to deliver comprehensive treatment and support, from initial injury through recovery. EIRMC meets the highest standards for burn care, including nationally-recognized benchmarks for quality and safety.
The adult burn intensive care unit (ICU) is equipped with six dedicated beds, and is led by physicians and nurses trained in critical care and burn medicine.
We also have Idaho's only dedicated burn operating (OR) suite. EIRMC operates the region's only pediatric ICU and is designated a Level II Trauma Center
Outpatient burn services
In addition to inpatient burn services, we provide ongoing outpatient burn care for more recent burns, as well as older burns with scar tissue.
On-site burn and trauma surgeons oversee the care at the outpatient clinic, complete with 13 treatment rooms, a whirlpool room with a full body tub, and advanced monoplace hyperbaric chambers.
The outpatient clinic is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, for scheduled and walk-in appointments.
