Teen Suicide: We Need to Talk

Sponsored by EIRMC and District 91, this seminar for parents and teens focuses on youth mental health and suicide prevention. Recognize warning signs, locate resources, and find hope and help.
The presenter is Jeni Griffin, who is certified and trained in various suicide prevention programs in the state of Idaho including QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer), ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means) and Survivor of Suicide Loss Bereavement support group facilitation. She has been in this field for over twelve years after losing her sixteen year old son in 2003.
She currently serves as the Executive Director for SPAN (Suicide Prevention Action Network) Idaho. She is an executive member on the Governor’s Idaho Council for Suicide Prevention, board member on the Idaho Suicide Prevention Coalition, and is the former Project Administrator for the Idaho Lives Project, a state-funded youth suicide prevention grant program. Her work with the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline Task Force helped to bring to fruition the current Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline. She was recently recognized as one of Idaho's Hometown Hero recipients for 2016.
