The EIRMC Cardiology Department will be hosting a TAVR Patient Reunion on Wednesday, Feb. 22 to celebrate the success of the Trans-Catheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Program at EIRMC. The reunion coincides with Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day, and will be a chance for patients to connect and share their experiences with each other.

To date, EIRMC has completed 37 TAVR procedures; in other words, performed heart valve replacement surgery without making a single incision. A TAVR is an advanced cardiology procedure in which patients receive a new heart valve through a small catheter inserted through a vein, normally in the leg.
