Most Comprehensive in the Region


EIRMC’s Medical Imaging services are the most comprehensive in the region. No other facility in the area offers the diversity, breadth, and depth of our services. We perform about 250 imaging tests each weekday (inpatient, outpatient, and emergency), including over 100 different types of tests. Our Medical Staff include thirteen radiologists (including three neuroradiologists and four interventional radiologists).

The majority of imaging services at EIRMC are obtained and managed by a fully digital environment, often referred to as PACS, (Picture Archive and Communications System). This advanced technology means your physician can access digital images and view your test results from anywhere there is Internet access - usually within minutes of your diagnostic imaging procedure!

The PACS system enables healthcare providers to get vital imaging results and information about your health faster so that treatment of your medical concerns can happen even more quickly.

CT Scan

Combines thin cross-sections of digital images in multiple planes to provide detailed diagnostic information in all areas of the body.  Biopsies and other treatments can be performed using CT Scanning.

Interventional Radiology

Highly-skilled radiologists use various techniques to guide procedures for diagnosis and/or treatment. Procedures are “minimally invasive,” as opposed to surgery. They are done through small nicks in the skin and use various needles, wires, and catheters to gain access to the area of interest.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Can reveal medical conditions and better details of soft-tissue anatomy that are not easily diagnosed through an X-ray, ultrasound or CT scan. MRI acquires images of the body using powerful magnets and radiofrequency waves.

Nuclear Medicine

A powerful camera is used to generate crystal-clear images to quickly detect and characterize disease. Nuclear Medicine provides more information in terms of physiological or actual functions within the body as opposed to just anatomical.

Ultrasound

Commonly called sonography or ultrasonography, this utilizes high-frequency sound waves to display moving, 3D images of the inside of the body on a monitor. No radiation is involved with ultrasound imaging procedures.

X-ray

A common basic diagnostic tool used in healthcare, x-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation, just like visible light. Individual particles (photons) pass through the body and are detected by highly sensitive imaging plate that is transmitted into a sharp digital image.
