Behavioral Health Center

Our goal of treatment at the BHC is to help each person achieve his or her maximum level of wellness, happiness, and personal potential.

The Behavioral Health Center is a 76-bed psychiatric hospital in Idaho Falls providing mental-health services. Part of nearby Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, we are located on a separate campus to provide for the patient’s greatest level of privacy, comfort, and individual care. Affiliation with EIRMC gives us access to the most current and comprehensive medical services available in the region.

At BHC, patients are provided with personal and compassionate care by a staff of specialists.  Our experts include psychiatrists, psychologists, trained psychiatric technicians, nurses, counselors, dietitians, social workers, case managers, and recreation therapists. We work as a team to help patients and their families overcome their problems.

The BHC is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and by Medicare.

How We Help: An Overview

The Behavioral Health Center provides four separate inpatient programs to ensure that people receive individual care in settings that are appropriate for their needs. Typically the treatment structure involves group therapy, individual counseling, educational groups, recreation therapy activities, and support services.

Throughout evaluation and treatment, we focus on how the patient will succeed after leaving us. Our goal is to help each person successfully re-enter his or her normal life in a timely manner and with appropriate follow-up care.
