While Idaho Dept of Health and Welfare is currently working toward a task force to address prescription drug abuse, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center has an in-house team in place that meets regularly to examine medication security and safety within the hospital.

Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Updates on Fungal Meningitis
October 22, 2012
The Idaho Dept of Health and Welfare released a statement noting 9 additional facilities that have received drugs from the New England Compounding Center and has urged them to contact their patients. Fungal meningitis is not contagious and can only affect those who have possibly been injected with the tainted drugs. To date, no patients in Idaho Falls have tested positive.
